Move the head to the opposite end of the bar, and your clamp turns into a spreader. Plus, by quickly flipping the head, you can use the dove-tail attachments to join two clamps together and increase the clamping length by 6 inches (in addition to the combined lengths of the original two clamps). For example: Two 12 in. bar clamps joined together will give you one clamp with a 30 in. length.
